An established and rapidly growing orthopaedic medical device company is seeking an experienced Regional Manager to lead and grow the North East region. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a commercially driven orthopaedic sales professional with strong NHS relationships, strategic account management experience, and a proven track record in capitalising on new business opportunities within the NHS and private healthcare sector.
The successful candidate will take ownership of regional performance, key account development, KOL engagement, and tender strategy, while also supporting and mentoring sales and clinical colleagues across the territory.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive sales growth across the North East orthopaedics territory
- Develop and execute a strategic regional business plan for the arthroplasty portfolio
- Manage and develop relationships with NHS Trusts, private hospitals, procurement teams, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within orthopaedic surgery and joint replacement
- Support surgeons and theatre teams with product training, case coverage, and clinical support
- Lead regional tender submissions, procurement negotiations, and pricing discussions
- Develop strategic key accounts and long-term customer partnerships
- Represent the business at orthopaedic meetings, exhibitions, and training events across the UK and Europe
- Support recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and development of sales and clinical staff
- Present and manage monthly territory and regional sales plans
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in orthopaedic medical device sales
- Strong knowledge of arthroplasty / joint replacement products
- Proven experience in both new business development and account management
- Strong understanding of NHS procurement pathways and framework agreements
- Established relationships within NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers in the North East preferred
- Experience engaging with surgeons, procurement, theatre staff, and senior hospital stakeholders
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to work strategically and independently within a regional management role
- Previous leadership or management experience advantageous
- Degree-level education preferred
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the region
