Our client is a successful and fast-growing medical device company. As a key element of the commercial strategy, we have been tasked with identifying and recruiting an experienced and energetic Business Development Manager to join their team in the UK. The post holder will nurture long-term relationships and actively seek new customers with the end goal of securing orders. The role has a considerable degree of autonomy and therefore somebody who is self-motivated and able to work productively in a field-based role will flourish in this role. Your contribution will be pivotal to the companyβs future and to it delivering a consistently high level of service to our customers. You will work in a fast-paced regulatory environment consistently and professionally ensuring that quality is central to all tasks. Candidates should have an entrepreneurial mindset, a drive for business development and be willing to take ownership of a business in its infancy to support and nurture its long-term growth and future.
Key responsibilities:
- Build relationships to advance selling opportunities and build customer loyalty;
- Sell innovative products to existing and new customers to grow the business on the territory;
- Place the customer at the heart of everything you do, focus on customer needs and relationship building to provide value to our customers;
- Take every opportunity to exploit new business potential;
- Deliver product training to customers when requested; both in theatre, training room environments or online;
- Maintain a good understanding of competitor product range and activity;
- Work with customers, internal and external and suppliers to improve our brand across the territory to create stronger customer relationships;
- Achieve all deadlines set in the format requested;
- Be the company to the customer β represent its values.
To be considered for the role, you must closely match the following criteria:
- Proven successful experience with business development within the Medical devices field;
- Strong background within the orthopaedic medical devices;
- Experience in the healthcare and/or medical devices industry, ideally with sales experience of technically challenging medical devices;
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and presentation skills;
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, dependent upon location and demands of the business.
