The Role Guide Flyfishing seeks a skilled and experienced Digital Marketing Assistant to play a key role in our expansion into Scandinavia, alongside supporting our established home markets. As we grow into this exciting new region, this position will be instrumental in helping to enhance the digital presence of Guide Flyfishing’s brands and delivering impactful, tailored marketing strategies. As a key marketing team member, you will work closely with the Marketing Manager to deliver creative campaigns, grow engagement, and drive results across our key markets. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a capable and motivated individual to make a tangible difference in a new and developing market while contributing to our established regions’ continued success. We are seeking a dynamic individual with proven expertise in digital marketing and a strong understanding of the fishing industry who can quickly adapt and start delivering results. Key responsibilities. Contribute to the strategy, development, and planning of Guide Flyfishing’s digital marketing initiatives across the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavian markets. Plan, strategise and implement smaller marketing campaigns independently for targeted topics and short-term objectives. Create marketing copy, including landing pages, product information, and blog content tailored to the needs of each region. Manage, manipulate and enhance product data to improve product presentation, boost website performance and strengthen overall digital presence. Develop and execute email campaigns that engage consumers across all territories. Support digital content creation, including social media posts, website updates, and email campaigns. Devise strategies to increase website traffic and optimise regional online engagement. Coordinate region-specific marketing efforts to align with local preferences and cultural nuances. Provide input into the adaptation of marketing materials for Scandinavian markets. Explore and integrate innovative digital tools to optimise workflows, content creation, and audience engagement. Monitor, measure, and report the effectiveness of campaigns using digital analytics tools. Work closely with sales teams to align marketing efforts with business goals. Implement and monitor SEO best practices to ensure Guide Flyfishing’s presence in competitive search rankings. Monitor correspondence and customer engagement through social media channels. Required skills. WooCommerce/WordPress: Familiarity with the WordPress dashboard and core functionality. Proficiency in managing WooCommerce products. Microsoft Excel: Experience handling large datasets, ensuring accuracy and maintaining clean, structured data. Strong ability to manipulate and organise data in Excel using functions and formulas. Ability to work with multiple data sets and consolidate data from a wide range of sources. Marketing Platforms: Familiarity with platforms like Mailchimp or Klaviyo to design, schedule and automate email and SMS campaigns. Ability to analyse campaign performance and engagement. Other: Strong proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Lightroom. Sound knowledge of Google Business Manager reporting and insights. Understanding of current online marketing concepts, content development, and best practices for different regions. Experience in leveraging digital platforms and tools to enhance marketing reach. About you Strong knowledge of fly fishing and the related industry. A solid understanding of content in various forms and its role in engaging diverse audiences. 2+ years of experience as a Marketing Assistant or in a similar role. Degree-level education or equivalent (preferred, with a focus on marketing). Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and creativity driven. Close attention to detail and strong literacy skills. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with the Marketing Manager, sales teams, and other stakeholders. Keen interest in staying updated on digital marketing tools, techniques, and trends. Employment Type. Full-time, location-flexible homework possible, with occasional travel within the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia as needed. Hours. Mon – Fri: 8.30 – 16.30 Salary. 25k – 28k depending on experience
