Permanent, Part-time (4 days/28 hours per week) Reporting to the Community Manager, Social Change, you’ll work with the team on the development and delivery of our community mobilisation strategy. This role is pivotal in bringing together clients, families, staff, volunteers, donors, and the broader low‑vision and blindness community to build a powerful, engaged movement for change. You’ll work collaboratively across regional teams and internal stakeholders to ensure lived experience is embedded in everything we do.

What you'll do:

  • Help build and implement a community engagement and mobilisation strategy across all Guide Dogs NSW/ACT stakeholder groups.
  • Foster a thriving community of people with lived experience who are keen to collaborate on advocacy initiatives.
  • Develop local client relationships and support grassroots advocacy initiatives across metro, regional, and rural areas.
  • Create and deliver community‑building events and mobilisation activities.
  • Identify and nurture local mobilisation leads and case studies.
  • Design and coordinate impactful campaigning actions, including events, rallies, and social media engagement.
  • Promote self‑advocacy and ensure strong community participation in advocacy campaigns.
  • Identify and streamline engagement tools and approaches to strengthen community networks.

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in community engagement or similar fields.
  • Experience in campaigns that mobilise people to achieve change.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including intermediate Word and Excel, and database experience.
  • Ability to manage the physical requirements of the role.
  • Experience in the disability sector, particularly low vision or blindness.
