About the Role
We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join our growing team in Manchester. You will be part of a high-performing engineering group, doubling in size to meet the demands of exciting modernisation projects. This is a hands-on role where you will design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable applications while driving innovation in cloud and search technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new features and resolve defects with a focus on quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality applications.
- Share knowledge and mentor colleagues, fostering technical growth within the team.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver robust technical solutions.
- Contribute to modernisation efforts, including:
- Migrating from Elasticsearch to OpenSearch.
- Moving capabilities to AWS cloud.
- Leveraging AI and machine learning to enhance search capabilities.
Essential Skills
- AWS Solutions Architect Certification.
- Strong experience with Linux, AWS, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Terraform, and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in Java and TypeScript/JavaScript.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Go, Rust, or Python.
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices.
