We are working with a leading defence programme in Stevenage looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support assembly and integration across electronic and electro-mechanical systems. This role sits within a fast-paced production environment, supporting builds from sub-assembly level through to full system integration.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting electronic and electro-mechanical assembly builds (CCA through to system level)
- Translating engineering drawings into clear manufacturing instructions
- Resolving production and process issues on the shop floor
- Supporting FMEA, FAI and validation activities
- Updating build processes, tooling and route cards
- Working closely with production, quality and engineering teams
What they're looking for:
You must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard) AND
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 4 academic qualification (HNC, diploma, etc.) AND
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved OR
- Degree in a relevant Engineering subject.
These qualifications must meet the required standard to be considered for the role.
Additional Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge to interpret design drawings to produce manufacturing build instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators
- Experience in Electronic Sub Assembly manufacture through to System level builds and expertise and knowledge of the assembly process for small/miniature Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a diverse team and the ability to read, analyse and interpret documents for accuracy and compliance with Code
- Effective collaboration, customer understanding, and prompt response are crucial
- Understand and work with Company Processes and Procedures
- It is highly essential to have Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training and SAP experience
