Contract: 12 Months (Paternity Cover)
Hours: 35 hours per week, working 4.5 days across agreed business hours between 7am and 7pm
Pay Rate: Β£27.00 per hour PAYE or Β£36.12 per hour Umbrella
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by Airbus Security)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport General Cargo Specialist to join Airbus at a time of transformation within its General Cargo Transport network. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic international organisation, working across multiple countries and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including transport providers, procurement teams, supply chain functions and manufacturing operations.
As a key member of the Transport & Logistics team, you will contribute to the performance, efficiency and continuous improvement of Airbus' General Cargo Transport operations in the UK. Working closely with internal teams and external transport partners, you will play an important role in ensuring transport activities meet business requirements and service expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting Transport Operations & Process Improvement
You will help drive the successful implementation and optimisation of transport processes, ensuring efficient and effective logistics operations across the business. Responsibilities include:
- Defining and adapting transport processes to support evolving business needs.
- Building and strengthening interfaces and networks across multiple business entities.
- Supporting the development and implementation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Assisting with transport-related IT tools and applications for Airbus sites and suppliers.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and flow optimisation.
Managing Day-to-Day Transport Activities
You will oversee transportation activities and support the delivery of service excellence across inbound and outbound logistics operations by:
- Managing transportation flows to achieve agreed service levels and customer expectations.
- Coordinating transport administration and workload management activities.
- Working with management teams to develop and implement new operational processes.
- Supporting cross-site (X-plant) transport processes.
- Creating transport specifications that meet internal customer requirements.
- Monitoring and managing transport service provider performance.
- Reviewing, validating and challenging change requests and ad-hoc service requirements.
- Managing transport-related complaints and claims.
- Supporting capital expenditure planning and annual operational planning activities.
- Undertaking additional duties as required to support business objectives.
