Guidant Global is partnering with Airbus to recruit a Technical Data Engineer - Landing Gear Systems to support the creation and maintenance of critical aircraft maintenance documentation used by operators worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to join a transnational technical data team responsible for producing high-quality maintenance manuals that underpin aircraft safety, reliability, and long-term operability.
You'll play a key role across the full aircraft lifecycle, from configuration definition through to in-service customer support. Whether you come from an aerospace engineering, aircraft maintenance, or technical authoring background, this role offers real scope to deepen your expertise in complex aircraft systems while contributing to digital and process improvements within a globally recognised organisation.
As a Technical Data Engineer within the Landing Gear Systems team, you will:
- Produce, maintain, and update Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and Troubleshooting Manual (TSM) content related to landing gear, wheels, and brakes
- Analyse design data, drawings, and modifications to assess their impact on maintenance documentation
- Ensure technical data meets Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and EASA regulatory requirements
- Maintain accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of documentation across multiple aircraft configurations
- Respond to airline and customer queries, including time-critical Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations
- Collaborate closely with Design Offices, internal stakeholders, and external subcontractors
- Manage and oversee subcontracted authoring activities, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including digital tools, processes, and standardisation
With experience and endorsement, there are opportunities to take on transverse roles such as Technical Data Customer Interface (TDCI), providing higher-level coordination for airline or lessor portfolios.
Experience in aircraft maintenance, aerospace engineering, or aircraft technical authoring is required. Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and configuration management is essential. Familiarity with international technical authoring standards and tools is also necessary.
The ability to interpret engineering data and translate it into clear, user-focused instruction is important. Hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (for example within commercial aviation or military environments such as the RAF) is highly valued, though strong technical writers with relevant aircraft documentation experience are also encouraged to apply.
