We're seeking an experienced
Systems Engineer to join a cutting-edge defence programme developing next-generation Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) capability.
This is a high-profile project offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced defence technology, supporting the development of complex systems and working closely with systems engineering, software and algorithm development teams.
The Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of a critical Command & Control subsystem, supporting requirements capture, functional architecture development and systems engineering activities across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture, derive and refine system and subsystem requirements.
- Support the development of functional architectures and system designs.
- Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Identify and manage risks, opportunities, assumptions and issues.
- Contribute to technical reviews, project reporting and engineering governance activities.
- Engage with stakeholders across systems engineering, software and algorithm disciplines.
- Support the delivery of complex engineering solutions within demanding timescales.
- Required Experience
- Systems engineering or product development experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Functional design and development experience.
- Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams.
- Practical knowledge of IBM DOORS, IBM Rhapsody and/or IBM Engineering Workflow Management.
- Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
