We are recruiting an electronics focused Test & Production Support Engineer to support manufacturing and test activities on complex defence systems. This is a hands-on engineering role working at the interface of design, test equipment and production, investigating issues, diagnosing root cause and supporting products through manufacture.

Ideal for engineers with experience in electronics test, manufacturing support or design for manufacture who enjoy practical problem solving in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering support to production and test activities on electronic modules and subsystems
  • Act as the interface between Design, Test Equipment and Manufacturing teams
  • Investigate design related manufacturing and test issues, identifying root cause and corrective actions
  • Support advanced defence programmes, including complex electronic assemblies
  • Contribute to technical documentation and engineering reports
  • Manage defined work packages, delivering technical solutions on time
What do you need?Essential:
  • Electronics engineering background (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent industry experience)
  • Experience supporting products through manufacture or production test
  • Strong fault finding and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and engage effectively with technical stakeholders
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
Desirable (not all required):
  • Experience in one or more of: Digital & Analogue Electronics, Test Systems / ATES, Safety Electronics, Power Electronics or RF
  • Exposure to schematic or PCB design review
  • Experience in defence, aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of BS EN engineering standards

This job is at our client's site in Bolton facility, one of the North West's leading manufacturing sites for at least 25 years. The facility offers showers and bike racks and is near the motorway, with a petrol station outside. Amenities like an onsite canteen. All employees get training and development opportunities.
