Join one of the UK's leading defence engineering organisations as a Skilled Paint Sprayer based at the Bolton site. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality paint and finishing operations on defence products, ensuring all work is completed in line with certified manufacturing processes, strict quality standards, and project timelines. Working within the Paint Department, you will play a key part in supporting production targets, maintaining workmanship excellence, and contributing to the successful delivery of critical defence programmes.

What we're looking for:

  • Essential Requirements (Mandatory - No Exceptions)
    • NVQ Level 3 in Surface Finishing (or equivalent recognised qualification) - all candidates must hold this qualification.
    • ONC, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline - mandatory requirement.
    • Proven experience as a Skilled Paint Sprayer within a manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive or similar highly regulated environment.
    • Ability to work to detailed manufacturing instructions, approved processes and certified procedures.
    • Strong understanding of surface preparation, masking, priming and topcoat application techniques.
    • Experience working to strict quality, safety and workmanship standards.
    • Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Desirable Skills & Experience
    • Experience within the Defence, Aerospace or Advanced Manufacturing sectors.
    • Knowledge of product certification requirements and controlled manufacturing processes.
    • Familiarity with 2-pack paint systems, specialist coatings and finishing techniques.
    • Experience carrying out inspection and quality checks throughout the paint process.
    • Understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
    • Ability to support delivery against production schedules, budgets and project milestones.
    • Strong team-working skills with the ability to operate effectively in a multi-skilled manufacturing environment.
