We are seeking a Senior Pensions Data Technician to join a leading employee benefits and pensions team. This role involves delivering complex pensions data work, including extraction, analysis, cleansing, and processing, while supporting scheme events and project delivery in line with client and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver scheme events and project requirements in collaboration with senior stakeholders
- Lead on assigned projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines, quality standards, and client expectations
- Review and support junior team members, providing technical guidance and feedback
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and auditability of all data processes and outputs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Identify and report risks, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Continuously review and improve processes to enhance service delivery
- Support management with audits, reporting, and ad hoc project work
Core Data Responsibilities
- Extract and manipulate data from administration systems, including bespoke reports
- Transform and upload data into required formats and structures
- Perform bulk calculations and build advanced Excel models
- Develop and maintain Excel templates, including macros/VBA automation
- Create mail merge communications and test bulk outputs
- Maintain clear audit trails and documentation
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on key projects
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of DB and/or DC pension schemes
- Understanding of pensions regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with pension administration systems and data structures
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, data validation)
- Experience with Word mail merge
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Experience with Macros/VBA
- Exposure to project management
- Professional pensions qualifications (PMI, CII or equivalent)
Qualifications
- Maths qualification (A-Level, degree, or equivalent experience in data analysis)
