Guidant Global is working in partnership with Airbus to recruit an experienced Environment, Health & Safety Manager to join the Facilities Management and Real Estate team at Broughton. This is an excellent opportunity to play an important role in creating an inclusive, value-driven and engaging working environment where the highest safety standards are maintained. You will provide practical EHS guidance, support strategic projects and help ensure that internal teams and service providers operate safely and in line with relevant legal requirements. The position offers long-term contract stability, with the current assignment running until 30 September 2027 with a strong likelihood of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Support the local Facilities Management and Real Estate team, ensuring appropriate risk controls are in place for its activities and those completed by service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements relating to the introduction, operation and ongoing maintenance of plant and work equipment.
  • Review the safety management systems of prospective contractors as part of the pre-qualification process.
  • Conduct EHS inspections covering internal operations and activities completed by service providers.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of formal inspection records and associated action plans.
  • Provide competent environmental, health and safety advice across a range of strategic projects, including feasibility and design reviews.
  • Implement processes and complete compliance audits to ensure activities meet relevant legal requirements, including the CDM Regulations 2015 and the Building Safety Act.
  • Ensure work-related incidents, including near misses, lost-time injuries and environmental incidents, are reported and investigated effectively.
  • Monitor the implementation of appropriate remedial actions following incidents and investigations.
  • Provide direction and practical support to operational management and local safety support teams.
  • Promote environmental, health and safety topics throughout the organisation, engaging effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Support safety reviews, KPI reporting, relevant training, awareness campaigns and EHS inductions., The role is based onsite at Broughton and does not require travel. Working hours will be completed across 4.5 days between 7.00am and 7.00pm, with the specific hours agreed according to business requirements.

Requirements

  • A NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or an equivalent qualification, as a minimum requirement.
  • Essential experience of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
  • Relevant experience within facilities management, real estate, construction or maintenance environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with key business stakeholders and building effective professional relationships.
  • Experience of implementing safety-related projects and activities within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Practical experience of formal risk assessment and auditing techniques.
  • A clear understanding of how to apply health and safety standards in a pragmatic and practical way.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also operating independently and using your own initiative.
  • A positive and professional approach, with a commitment to continued development.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body for health and safety practitioners, such as IOSH.
  • A long-term contract running until 30 September 2027.
  • A 35-hour working week across 4.5 days.
