As the UKs trusted partner to the Ministry of Defence, our client is seeking an Embedded Ada Software Engineer to join their growing Software team in Bristol. You will work on cutting-edge technology at the forefront of European missile system design, delivering secure, reliable, and mission-critical solutions. The System Software department develops Command and Control (C2) software for land and maritime platforms and is expanding the Sea Viper and Sea Ceptor C2 teams to support the next generation of advanced naval air defence systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will contribute across the full software engineering lifecycle, collaborating with Systems Engineering on requirements evolution through to supporting software qualification activities and release delivery.
What we're looking for:
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven commercial experience developing software in Ada
- Strong background in safety critical software development within regulated industries such as defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear, or medical
- Experience working in high integrity, safety critical environments, demonstrating rigorous standards in coding quality, development processes, verification, and technical documentation
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to formal design methods and tools, including DOORS, Dimensions, Rhapsody, UML, SysML, or MASCoT
- Experience developing applications on Linux platforms, including networked and distributed systems
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
