As Picture Editor, you will oversee the daily management of the picture desk, ensuring the highest standards of image research, sourcing, editing, and licensing across our print and digital platforms. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the visual identity of the company's publications and supporting the creative needs of our events and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Image Management: Research, source, and edit high-resolution images for print titles, including the company's magazine (UK and US editions), supporting supplements, and the company's website.
  • Project Leadership: Take the lead on the annual SuperYachts book and Interiors Book, collaborating with the Art Director to deliver exceptional visual content.
  • Licensing & Budgeting: Negotiate fees and licenses with external image suppliers, ensuring all images are correctly licensed and within budget.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the art department in executing print products, photo shoots, and special projects.
  • Digital Support: React to image requests from the BI Digital Team, ensuring images are licensed for online use and correctly credited.
  • Reporting & Administration: Produce monthly usage reports for image suppliers, collate invoices, and manage the image proof folder.
  • Creative Contribution: Offer input to creative meetings, share ideas, and contribute to the brand’s visual storytelling.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in picture editing, image research, and licensing.
  • Strong negotiation skills and budget management expertise.
  • Proficiency in image editing software and digital asset management.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in luxury publishing is a MUST.
