We’re currently recruiting for a Fabric Assistant to join a luxury fashion brand on a contract basis in London.
Location: London – fully site-based
Pay: £115.38–£170 per day PAYE
Start Date: 2 September 2026
Contract: Until 18 December 2026
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
About the role: You’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for inspecting Client's fabrics and ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting off-loom and finished fabrics for quality and faults
- Carrying out mandatory quality and shade checks
- Identifying and accurately recording fabric faults
- Using tailor’s chalk to mark defects
- Allocating fabric to the correct storage areas
- Updating fabric locations and information on relevant systems
- Supporting on-loom inspection and fabric mending
- Ensuring fabric is presented to a high standard before delivery
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping and safe working practices
- Working closely with managers and colleagues to achieve daily targets
About you: We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous textile/fabric or manufacturing experience
- Experience working to high-quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Good problem-solving skills
- Basic Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
- Excel and Microsoft Word skills would be advantageous
