Our client, a partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their Calibration & Maintenance Team. The role involves servicing Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE). Responsibilities include fault finding and repair of test equipment, supporting routine calibrations, commissioning of test equipment, and conducting drift analysis.
The ideal candidate will work within a skilled team of Calibration & Maintenance Engineers, supporting complex test platforms used in the manufacture and testing of advanced missile systems. You will receive training to calibrate and support specialised factory test equipment, utilising a range of technologies from DC to Microwave.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Operators and Technicians working in the C&M department.
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing Test and measuring equipment at the component level.
- Generate clear and comprehensive calibration and maintenance records for traceability purposes.
- Test the safety systems of Test and measuring equipment following documented procedures.
- Responsible for commissioning and accepting test facilities, ensuring that the equipment and facilities are configured correctly and that there is proper control over the configuration.
- Provide Technical support to facilitate the efficient servicing of STTE to enable production testing of hardware and repair phases of the contract-assessment of related equipment issues and directing support services to resolve equipment failures.
- Provide technical information and advice to the Integrated Production Team as the Calibration representative.
- Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (highly essential).
- Experience and knowledge in test equipment calibration and maintenance of test systems down to the component level.
- Clear understanding of calibration principles and processes.
- Able to provide technical advice, fault finding, and repairs using instructions, handbooks, drawings, and specifications down to component level.
- Confidently manage multiple issues, tasks, and priorities concurrently and have analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Desirable skills include experience and knowledge in the use of RF test equipment.
- Emphasise skills related to different testing systems, such as DIO, AIO, RF, temperature, and communication systems.
- Excellent communication skills, including tailoring communication to specific audiences, are necessary.
