Our client, who is a respected partner of the Ministry of Defence in the UK, are searching for an experienced Electrical Fitter Apprenticeship-Trained Professionals to join their team at the Bolton site. This role\’s primary duties involve manufacturing and testing activities within the electrical department. The ideal candidate will follow product certification procedures, maintain high standards of workmanship, and efficiently manage budgets and timelines to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and fit electrical components to drawings, specifications, and industry standards (IPC).
- Perform electrical wiring, soldering, and termination work with precision.
- Maintain compliance with ESD, safety, and handling protocols at all times.
- Use appropriate tools, jigs, and measuring instruments during assembly and inspection.
- Carry out self-checks and quality inspections to ensure defect-free builds.
- Complete and maintain product certification, approvals, and associated documentation.
- Collaborate with inspection, test, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and workflows.
- Adhere to strict defense/aerospace compliance, confidentiality, and export control requirements.
- Uphold safety, housekeeping, and professional standards on the manufacturing line.
What do you need?:
- Electrical Assembly & Fitting: Proven experience in electrical wiring, fitting, and sub-assembly of components in a manufacturing environment.
- IPC-610 or IPC-620 Certification: Knowledge and adherence to IPC standards for electronic assemblies.
- ESD Awareness & Handling: Trained in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection and safe component handling.
- Precision Workmanship: Ability to use magnifying glasses/microscopes for fine detail assembly and inspection.
- Tool Proficiency: Competent with hand tools, crimping tools, torque tools, and electrical measuring instruments.
- Product Certification & Documentation: Experience maintaining product certification, approvals, and build records.
- Manual Handling & Lifting: Trained in safe manual handling, lifting, and slinging procedures.
- Aerospace/Defense Experience (Preferred): Familiarity with quality, safety, and compliance standards in highly regulated industries.
- Attention to Quality & Standards: Conversant with inspection processes, quality checks, and conformance to engineering drawings/specs.
- Time & Process Management: Ability to meet manufacturing build, inspection, and test cycle times without compromising quality.

- Approved Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Framework/Modern Apprenticeship
OR
- Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
OR
- Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
And
- Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC

This job is at our client\’s site in Bolton facility, one of the North West\’s leading manufacturing sites for at least 25 years. The facility offers showers and bike racks and is near the motorway, with a petrol station outside. Amenities like an onsite canteen. All employees get training and development opportunities.
