Job Description

Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking a skilled Electrical Architect/Engineer to oversee all aspects of missile development, from initial concept to series production and in-service support. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your engineering experience.

As an experienced electrical architect/engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing the electrical architecture, missile system, and launcher requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

This involves defining the electrical architecture based on requirements, establishing the power architecture and safety design, defining interface characteristics between subsystems, determining requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening, supporting test activities, and reviewing and authoring guidelines and processes related to design.

Alternatively, acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s), you will:

  • Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture
  • Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority
  • Technically manage internal & external suppliers to deliver the equipment(s) work packages to time, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Review qualification verification evidence and control assigned budget(s) for both activities and manage your workload.


What do you need?:

  • Technical Experience Required: Electrical/Electronics/Systems engineering (Essential)
  • Interfaces; Data communication
  • Knowledge of defence/industry standards, etc.
  • HND or Degree level qualification in a related subject. Ideally, this would be within a defence-related background; however, experience within other engineering industries may be considered.
  • Systems Engineering
  • Writing reports


Experience within these other areas is also of interest but not essential

  • Power supplies; Sensors; Actuators; Defence; Weapon Systems
  • Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS)
  • Model Based Engineering (MBE)
  • EMC
  • ATEX regulations.
