Defence Manufacturing | Bolton | Long term Contract

£21.12 PAYE / £28.35 Umbrella | 37 hrs | Mon-Fri | Onsite

Are you an apprenticeship trained Electrical Fitter looking for stable, long term work, clean workshop conditions, and consistent day shift hours? This is an opportunity to join a well established defence manufacturing programme at a modern Bolton facility, working on high quality, mission critical products with clear processes, strong quality standards, and long term demand.

The Role

As an Electrical Fitter, you'll be part of an experienced electrical manufacturing team, responsible for assembly, wiring, and certification of electrical products built to approved drawings and industry standards. You'll work in a structured, regulated environment where quality, safety, and right first time builds are key.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Electrical assembly, wiring, soldering, and termination to drawings and build instructions
  • Certifying your own work in line with product certification and quality procedures
  • Using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and electrical measuring equipment
  • Carrying out self checks and inspections to ensure defect free builds
  • Completing manufacturing and certification documentation accurately
  • Working closely with inspection, test, and engineering teams
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, ESD compliance, and housekeeping
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing line

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Completed electrical or manufacturing apprenticeship (Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Hands on experience in electrical wiring, fitting, assembly, or loom build
  • Comfortable working to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards

Desirable (not essential)

  • IPC 610 and/or IPC 620 exposure
  • Defence, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing experience
  • ESD, manual handling, or lifting & slinging training

Don't worry if you don't tick every box - relevant electrical manufacturing experience is what matters most.

Qualifications (Essential Pathways)

You must hold one of the following:

  • Advanced / Level 3 Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 academic qualification (ONC / Diploma or equivalent) AND Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) (NVQ not required if a Level 3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved)

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
