We're looking for a skilled Site Engineer to join our on-site service team in Dagenham, responsible for maintaining and repairing materials handling and ancillary equipment. This is a varied, customer-facing role where you'll play a key part in ensuring equipment uptime, delivering excellent service, and acting as a trusted technical expert on-site. You'll also work closely with the Area Service Manager, supporting day-to-day operations and helping maintain strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on materials handling equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Complete accurate service reports, job sheets, and timesheets
  • Manage and control on-site parts stock effectively
  • Build strong customer relationships, ensuring service delivery meets contractual expectations
  • Liaise with the After Sales team to provide updates, ETAs, and repair progress
  • Identify and complete chargeable repair work
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Identify and pass on sales leads for equipment and aftersales services
  • Act as a professional company ambassador at all times
  • Occasional call-out and overtime work may be required.

About You

We're open to engineers from a variety of service and maintenance backgrounds, including:

  • Automotive / Vehicle Technicians
  • HGV / Heavy Vehicle Engineers
  • Plant / Construction Equipment Engineers
  • Forklift / Materials Handling Engineers
  • Ex-Forces / Military Engineers

You'll also have:

  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience in a customer-facing or on-site role
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload
  • A proactive and professional approach
  • A full UK driving licence
