Location: Filton (60% on-site)

Hours: 35 hours per week, across 4.5 days (flexible between 7am-7pm)

Clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by Airbus Security)

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative engineering environment, supporting both current aircraft programmes and new developments.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the strength, safety, and continued airworthiness of landing gear systems across the Airbus commercial fleet. If you enjoy problem-solving, technical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Technical Delivery
    • Reviewing and approving suppliers' structural analysis reports, ensuring alignment with Airbus methodologies and standards.
    • Conducting static and fatigue structural assessments to support continued airworthiness.
    • Providing engineering input and structural expertise to resolve issues arising during testing, manufacturing, or in-service operation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Working closely with the wider Landing Gear team, Chief Engineers, Customer Services, and specialist technical signatories.
    • Coordinating analysis activities across In-Service, Final Assembly Line (FAL), and Flight Test teams.
  • Problem Solving & Compliance
    • Identifying root causes of structural issues and driving robust, well-planned resolutions.
    • Ensuring all work meets Airbus safety, certification, and compliance requirements.
    • Liaising with vendors and sub-contractors to address technical challenges while balancing safety, performance, cost, and operational needs.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, and experience is valued over formal qualifications. A strong foundation in structural analysis, stress engineering, or fatigue and damage tolerance is key.

  • Essential:
    • Strong background in Static Stress analysis and Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT).
    • Prior experience within Airbus or an Airbus supplier.
    • Ability to interpret complex technical reports and provide clear, informed engineering judgement.
    • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with multiple engineering functions and suppliers.
  • Nice to Have:
    • Previous Landing Gear experience.
    • Experience as a Stress Engineer or F&DT Engineer in aerospace.

Contract Details & Benefits

Competitive pay: £46.00 per hour (Umbrella) / £34.29 per hour (PAYE)

Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
