About the Role

Guidant Global is recruiting for a Nightshift Lineside Engineer to support production activity at Airbus in Broughton. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded engineer who enjoys working directly with production teams, solving shopfloor challenges and helping to keep manufacturing operations moving efficiently.

In this role, you will work closely with the production team and Autonomous Production Team, supporting the identification, analysis and resolution of technical issues that cannot be managed directly by operators or the First Line Manager. You will provide a valuable end-to-end perspective on the shopfloor, helping to unblock production issues, support continuous improvement and contribute to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the production team in identifying, analysing and resolving technical issues on the shopfloor.
  • Assist with the identification, creation and follow-up of Non-Conformities and NC notifications.
  • Provide technical input to help complete NC forms accurately, supporting containment and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and enrich technical documentation relating to assembly anomalies, non-conformities, design queries, rework orders and outstanding work.
  • Search for and provide relevant technical information, including drawings, references, parts, tooling and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement activity by identifying production issues, inefficiencies and opportunities to reduce waste.
  • Escalate issues where appropriate to Work Prep, Line Balancing, Maintenance, MAP, OSW or other support functions.
  • Contribute to Work Improvement Proposals, process validation activity and failure analysis.
  • Support outstanding work management, including template completion, assessment with multifunctional teams and follow-up where required.
  • Help flag blocked work orders for review at production control meetings.
  • Support the prioritisation of serial and rework work orders linked to non-conformities, concessions or blocking points.
  • Promote transparency and application of Environment, Health and Safety standards on the shopfloor.
  • Support quality standards by helping ensure production processes and procedures are applied correctly.
  • Assist logistics activity by supporting the prioritisation of materials linked to rework work orders.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can bring technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to a fast-paced production environment.

  • A minimum NVQ Level 4 qualification, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a technical, manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
  • The ability to analyse technical issues and support practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work with production teams and support functions.
  • A structured and detail-focused approach to documentation, non-conformance activity and work order management.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in improving processes, reducing waste and supporting operational performance.
  • A commitment to quality, safety and effective shopfloor support.

Why Apply?

This role offers the opportunity to work in a high-profile aerospace production environment, supporting frontline manufacturing activity and contributing directly to production performance.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of technical, quality, logistics, process improvement and shopfloor support activities, making this a strong opportunity for someone looking to broaden their engineering experience within a complex manufacturing setting.

The role also offers:

  • A 30% night shift allowance.
  • A Monday to Thursday night shift pattern.
  • The potential for contract extension.
  • The opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams across production, quality, logistics, maintenance and engineering support.
