About the Opportunity
We are partnering with Airbus to recruit a Surface Technology Specialist - a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to shape the future of sustainable materials and surface technologies within world-class aircraft engineering. You will join an expert, supportive and internationally-collaborative team working across the full aircraft lifecycle. From research and development to in-service support, your work will help deliver more efficient, innovative and eco-friendly surface technologies used across Airbus' aircraft family.

What You Will Be Doing
- You will play a key role in developing and supporting technologies used to protect, enhance, and extend the life of aircraft materials. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and deploying new materials, processes, and testing technologies for design and production.
- Supporting the design and build of aircraft by providing corrosion protection and sealing solutions.
- Delivering corrosion analysis and protection principles across all Airbus aircraft programmes.
- Working on continuous improvement projects, including cost, time and performance enhancements.
- Ensuring compliance with EHS and REACh regulations through eco-efficient materials and processes.
- Adapting existing surface technologies to chromate-free environments as part of Airbus' sustainability goals.
What We Are Looking For
Experience is highly valued - more so than formal qualifications. You will likely have a background in aerospace, automotive, or materials engineering, and will bring expertise in some of the following:
- Material Science, Chemistry, Materials or Chemical Engineering (or related experience).
- Strong knowledge of corrosion protection, surface technology, metallic and composite materials.
- Experience with surface treatments, coatings, sealants, and material testing (e.g., salt spray, corrosion, Volvo tests).
- Ability to communicate clearly and work within a multi-location, international team.
- Confidence, initiative, integrity and a collaborative working style.
- Comfortable working in English at a professional/technical level.
