Location: Belfast
Contract: 12‑month initial contract (high likelihood of extension)
Hours: 36 hours per week, shift‑based (39.5% shift premium applies)
Pay: £16.25 per hour PAYE / £21.74 per hour Umbrella
Security: BPSS+ clearance required (completed by Airbus Security)
At Airbus, you will be part of one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aerostructures for commercial aircraft, defence platforms, and regional jets. As a Composite Operative, you will play a key role in producing high‑quality composite components that contribute to world‑class aerospace engineering.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Producing composite components using various materials in line with engineering and quality requirements.
- Following defined processes, using supplied materials, tooling, and detailed work instructions.
- Preparing, cutting, and laying up composite materials for autoclave curing.
- Carrying out finishing operations on cured components and associated tooling.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant working environment at all times.
- Reading and understanding work instructions and production documentation.
- Working flexibly across shift patterns and completing overtime where required.
What You’ll Bring

- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Warehouse or production experience.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Desirable
- Experience within the aerospace sector.
- NVQ Level 2 in a manufacturing or engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Manual Handling training.
