Adult Support Worker

A good Care Assistant is a compassionate, supportive and well-rounded individual. Maintaining reliability and organisation is also vital. These traits are imperative to provide the necessary support and comfort to recovering, disabled or frail clients.\\n\\nWe are looking for competent care assistants to support physically and/or mentally challenged service users in their everyday lives, enabling their independence as far as is possible.

The support required takes into account the varying needs of people including those recovering from an operation or illness, with mild to severe learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, sensory impairments, dysphagia, epilepsy, and the beginnings of age-related conditions, particularly dementia. The fulfilment and satisfaction that comes with helping others surpasses the challenges of this job.\\n\\nIf you are a compassionate, positive person who isn't afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator.

Experience in housekeeping tasks and caring for the elderly or sick will make you a strong candidate.\\n\\nTraining and annual refresher training will be provided and paid for by Guidant Global.\\n\\nYou must have access to transport to be able to get to the various sites throughout Brighton & Hove.\\n\\nYour responsibilities will include:\\n\\nFollowing care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management Plans\\nPersonal hygiene, bathing and dressing\\nAdministering medication as required (with training)\\nMobility support: moving and handling, hoisting\\nAssisting clients with physical therapy exercises\\nAssisting with preparing appropriate meals and feeding where required\\nProviding social interaction and emotional support\\nHousehold chores, including tidying, cleaning, washing, ironing and shopping\\nPaperwork: Handover notes and inform physicians or supervisors of uncommon events\\nAct quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency \\n\\nRequirements and skills:\\n\\nProven experience as a personal care assistant\\nCommitted to health and safety\\nAble to do housework and cook\\nWell-organised and reliable\\nExcellent communication and people skills\\nPositive and compassionate attitude\\nStrong ethics\\nPhysical stamina \\n\\nShifts: Monday to Sunday (Early Shift, Day Shift, Late Shift, Long Day, Waking Nights, Sleep-In Nights)\\n\\nContract: Zero Hours Contract
