Guggenheim Securities ("GS") is seeking an exceptional, experienced Analyst (1 or 2 years of experience) to join its Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) located in London. Our London based Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) is a key part of GS' Global FSG practice and leads the coverage and execution of transactions for private equity clients in the UK and Europe.

Analysts will join a highly collaborative team responsible for providing M&A advisory services to Private Equity clients. GS offers a unique opportunity to work as part of small client teams on major strategic assignments, providing meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives. We will provide best-in-class Investment Banking training—formal and hands-on—as you continue to develop your professional toolkit: M&A process management, business acumen, financial analysis, data analysis, soft-selling and presentation skills, professional communication (verbal, written and virtual), negotiations, and more.

Candidates must be focused on earning a promotion to Associate upon completion of the Analyst program and becoming a top performer with the intention of developing a long-term banking career.

Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare and contribute to delivery of client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants
  • Perform various financial analyses, including LBO valuations and merger consequences
  • Draft internal and client-facing documents, including information memorandums, management presentations, lender presentations, fairness opinions, and pitchbooks
  • Ability and desire to operate in a variety of sectors
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic frameworks, tools, and intellectual property to aid business development activities of the firm
  • Conduct competitive research, including identifying sector and industry trends
  • Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, develop and communicate recommendations to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior investment banking or equivalent M&A experience acquired through internships or a full-time position
  • Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives and senior management
  • Strong interpersonal skills required for client facing activities
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of accounting and corporate finance concepts and theory
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective process management abilities
Basic Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or Masters with minimum 2:1 grade
  • Experience in investment banking
  • Core modeling and valuation experience in professional setting
  • Relevant FCA regulatory qualifications must be acquired within 150 days of employment

Currently, this role is expected to be in the London office at least 4 days per week.
