Front of House Manager - Brighton

Hello Brighton!

We're looking for a Front of House Manager at No.124 Brighton by Guest House to join our team.

Are you a people person who loves a good welcome, knows their way around a busy hotel and can keep things shipshape when the pressure is on?

Do you believe great hospitality is all about the little things, a genuine smile and knowing when someone needs a hand (or perhaps just a decent cup of tea)?

If so, you might just be our cup of tea!

Here at No.124 Brighton, we're a small but stylish, family-run boutique hotel with plenty of character, a big heart and a rather lovely spot on the seafront.

We're looking for a Front of House Manager who can lead our team, keep our guests happy and bring a little Brighton magic to everything they do.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading, supporting and inspiring our small but ever so mighty Front of House team to deliver the kind of hospitality that keeps guests coming back for more.
  • Making every arrival feel special, whether it's a first visit or a familiar face returning for another Brighton escape.
  • Keeping reception running smoothly, even when the hotel is buzzing and the seagulls are having a particularly loud day.
  • Getting to know our guests, anticipating their needs and adding those thoughtful touches that make a stay memorable.
  • Handling guest feedback and tricky situations with warmth, confidence and a cool head.
  • Working closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and the wider hotel team to keep everything ticking along nicely.
  • Keeping standards high, developing your team and making sure the little details never fall through the cracks.
  • Rolling up your sleeves, taking ownership and leading by example.

After all, the best managers are never afraid to muck in.

This will include working with night shift as when required.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a Front of House, Reception or Guest Services leadership role, ideally within a hotel. Knowledge of Opera is also an essential.
  • A natural leader who knows how to motivate a team and bring out the best in people.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and making guests feel right at home.
  • Someone organised, confident and calm when things get busy.
  • A problem-solver who can turn a guest concern around without letting it spoil anyone's day.
  • Brilliant communication skills, a keen eye for detail and the confidence to make decisions.
  • Comfortable with hotel systems and technology. We love a bit of old-school charm, but we're firmly in favour of making life easier!
  • Bags of personality, a good sense of humour and a soft spot for Brighton's wonderfully colourful, slightly bonkers seaside spirit.

If you've been looking for a company that trusts your instincts, values your ideas and gives you the freedom to make a real difference, then fancy that - we've been looking for you too!

What's in it for you!

  • A boutique hotel full of character, charm and a little seaside swagger.
  • A close-knit team where you can be yourself, have a laugh and know your contribution matters.
  • Opportunities to grow and develop your career within the Guest House Family.
  • An extra holiday day for your birthday. No need to spend it watching everyone else eat the cake!
  • All breaks are paid.
  • Our team have their own team room, with their own pantry full of food to dip into whenever they like. Feeling peckish? Help yourself! Plus, enjoy a free meal on shift.
  • Great discounts when you stay or dine with family and friends across our hotels, restaurants and spas. A little Guest House getaway, anyone?
  • The chance to lead a brilliant team and create memorable guest experiences, right here on Brighton's beautiful seafront.

If your idea of a good day involves happy guests, a team that has your back and the chance to do hospitality a little differently, we reckon you'll feel right at home with us.
