We are looking for a fee earner to join our private client/life planning department. We are looking for someone like-minded, to be an integral part of our niche commercial property team, advising on all types of commercial property matters. The job involves:
- The provision of legal advice and assistance to clients;
- Developing your own client base whilst supporting the team to develop a strong regional presence, carrying out marketing, networking and other business development activities;
- Manage cases at a level of complexity appropriate to your level and experience and giving guidance to others in the team as appropriate;
- As a fee earning role, it includes handling commercial property transactions from the initial client contact through to completion, for example:
- Sales and purchases of commercial freehold and leasehold premises;
- Acquisition and development of residential and commercial sites;
- Commercial leases and all associated work;
- Buying and selling small to medium businesses, pubs, restaurants and other licensed premises;
- Licensing;
- Securing lending and finance;
- Pension transactions;
- Auction transactions.
- Always providing outstanding client care and advising clients with integrity;
- Managing all cases and files to a high standard and in accordance with SRA requirements, the Law Society, and Guest Walker procedures.
You will:
- Develop existing expertise, experience and skills with training, direction and appropriate supervision;
- Demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills and the initiative to work independently but also as part of a team;
- Communicate and engage at all levels both internally and externally with clients and professional advisors;

- Undertake legal research and stay abreast of changes in the law and practice;

Key qualifications and skills:
- Post qualification experience essential – ideally 5-10 years PQE;
- Experience of working with small and medium-sized businesses, property developers, the hospitality sector, and private individuals;
- Experience of working in a commercial property department doing a variety of work;
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the regional commercial property market, its challenges and opportunities;
- Experience of undertaking marketing and business development activity;
- Experience of document drafting and research;
- Experience of building relationships with external stakeholders.
