Reporting To Service Manager
Location Guest Truck and Van Sheffield and surrounding areas
Working Hours Day shift: 7:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, Permanent, full-time position
Job Summary
You will be travelling within a designated area and have use of a fully equipped van. You will be working on a variety of vehicles, from HGV/LCV and EV. As a Mobile HGV Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of HGV/LCV and EV roadside and on-site at customer locations.
Role Profile
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on HGVs to ensure they meet safety standards and legal requirements.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical faults on HGV/LCV/EV vehicles.
- Perform emergency breakdown repairs at customer sites and roadside on a call out rota.
- Carry out routine servicing, MOT preparations, and vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used, labour time, and service details and any required supporting repair documentation is provided, job cards written up in line with manufacturer requirements and times.
- Ensure that company vehicles and equipment are kept in good working condition.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Skills & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent HGV Technician qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with HGVs
- Strong diagnostic skills and a practical understanding of HGVs and associated systems.
- Full, clean UK driving license (HGV license would be a plus but not essential)
