We are currently looking for an experienced Nursery Key Person in a prep school based in Farnham. This is a full-time, all-year-round role, working four days from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and one day from 8:00 am to 6:15 pm. You will be entitled to 28 days of holiday to be taken throughout the year. The successful candidate will be expected to attend inset days, open days, and other evening and weekend events. The salary will be competitive but dependent on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. A free staff lunch is provided, along with free onsite parking and an additional 'Happy Day' per year.
The duties outlined in this job description may be modified by the Head, with your agreement, to reflect or anticipate changes in the job:
- Assist the Classroom Lead in preparing activities within the EYFS Framework to foster pupils' intellectual and social development, including organizing activities for individuals or classes of pupils.
- Ensure the safety and facilitate the physical and emotional development of pupils.
- Assist the Classroom Lead in teaching lessons, taking groups or individuals to carry out directed tasks.
- Assist in organizing and arranging activity rooms and outdoor learning areas, including classroom displays.
- Take responsibility for assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils through observation, collating photographs, uploading photographs to class files, and contributing to Learning Journeys and Reports.
- Motivate pupils and encourage their learning through conversation, interaction, and praise.
- Support the physical needs of children, such as changing nappies and assisting children who are unwell or injured.
- Promote pupil inclusion within the school community.
