The predicted salary is between 18500 - 25000 £ per year.
To train to install, connect, repair and maintain LV and HV electrical plant, cabling and control on the electricity network. The principal role is to complete the City and Guilds accredited Apprentice Jointer Course and qualify as a Jointer. All training will be provided. Key Responsibilities
- To complete training to carry out installation and maintenance of cables, switchgear, transformers, distribution pillars and underground link boxes in a variety of scenarios ensuring work is carried out to a very high standard of reliability and safety.
- Ensures on site safety is maintained at all times and will be involved in carrying out Risk Assessments.
- To be trained to carry out fault finding and to correct defects on electrical plant and equipment to ensure reliable operation.
- Will be trained to assist in the planning of jobs by carrying out site visits, organising resources and liaising with customers.
- Will be trained to carry out installation of new plant and modifications to existing plant to improve performance.
- Operates cable tracing equipment to identify cables and interprets cable route drawings to ensure that they are installed in the correct position.
- To train to accept formal safety documents and lead working parties for specific tasks, ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
- To train to carry out LV Operations such as the removal and replacement of LV Distribution fuses and links for maintenance purposes or to energise and de-energise cables.
- Be aware of and comply with local legislation, specifically related to Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection.
- Once trained will be required to take part in a formal standby rota.
- Such other duties as may be allocated and interchange of duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A good standard of education and will serve a recognised Apprenticeship at City & Guilds level 2 or 3 which will include Distance Learning.
- Must demonstrate a very high attention to detail as work is safety critical.
- Must be willing to travel as some of the training will be carried out in the UK.
- Will be trained to undertake training on minor plant items, safety training etc.
