An exciting opportunity has arisen at Gudge Heath Lane Surgery for an accomplished, highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and forward-thinking clinical team. The ideal candidate will be registered with the NMC and ideally have experience working within Primary Care.
About us: We are a supportive and successful training practice. We work closely with our PCN who provide a paramedic-led home visiting service for our frail and housebound patients, meaning there are minimal home visits for our GPs, a first contact physio service, social prescribing team, and link with mental health and wellbeing coaches. We offer good work-life balance, a supportive team around you, located in a wonderful place to live and work. There is opportunity for a lunchtime walk and local to cafes and shops. We pride ourselves in the development and well-being of staff. We offer an Employment Assistant Programme which is open to immediate family members, Blue Light Card, NHS Discounts and NHS pension scheme.
Schedule:
- Monday 8.30am-5.30pm (with 30min unpaid break - 8.5hrs) or 8.30am-1pm (4.5hrs)
- Tuesday 8.30am-1pm (4.5hrs)
- Wednesday 8.30am-5.30pm (with 30min unpaid break - 8.5hrs)
- Thursday 8.30am-1pm (4.5hrs)
- Friday off
Main duties of the job:
- Cytology
- Family Planning / Contraception
- Wound / ulcer care / compression
- Doppler
- Removal of Sutures
- ECGs
- Adult / Childhood immunisations
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Following agreed clinical protocols
- Clean equipment as necessary as per IPC guidelines
- Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
- Chronic Disease Management (Asthma/COPD/Diabetes/CHD) - (desirable skill)
- Travel vaccinations (desirable skill)
