Retail Security Officer – Newcastle City Centre

About the Role
We are recruiting a professional and presentable Retail Security Officer to join our team in Newcastle city centre.
You will help create a safe and welcoming shopping environment, protect staff and customers, and prevent theft and other security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a visible security presence to deter theft and antisocial behaviour.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store.
- Support store staff with loss prevention and security concerns.
- Respond professionally to incidents, using effective communication and de-escalation skills.
- Monitor CCTV where applicable and within your licence permissions.
- Maintain accurate incident reports and records.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements
- A valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence.
- At least one year of security experience, preferably in retail.
- Good spoken and written English, including the ability to read instructions and complete reports.
- A smart appearance and professional manner.
- Strong observation, communication and customer service skills.
- The right to work in the UK and availability to work full-time.
- Availability for day shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays, is essential.
