Main Duties
1. Store Security and Surveillance
- Monitor customer and employee activity throughout the store.
- Patrol sales floors, stockrooms, entrances and exits.
- Identify suspicious behaviour, security risks and policy breaches.
- Deter and prevent shoplifting, theft and other criminal activity.
2. Loss Prevention
- Help protect company property, stock and equipment.
- Assist with investigations into theft, accidents and policy violations.
- Follow store loss-prevention procedures and report concerns to management.
3. Incident and Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies and disturbances.
- Support emergency evacuations and safety procedures.
- Liaise with management, emergency services and local law enforcement when required.
4. Reporting and Documentation
- Complete accurate incident, accident and loss-prevention reports.
- Record relevant details, witness information and actions taken.
- Report hazards, suspicious activity and security breaches promptly.
5. Customer Service and Compliance
- Enforce store policies and security procedures professionally.
- Remain calm, polite and approachable when dealing with customers.
- Monitor entrances and exits to ensure security procedures are followed.
- Work closely with store management and staff to maintain a safe environment.
Person Specification
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence, as required.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
- Previous retail or security experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Five-year checkable employment or activity history.
- Calm, reliable and professional under pressure.
