Contracted Hours: Friday & Saturday nights - 8pm - 6am (20 hours pw). With additional holiday and sickness cover.

The role

Our small friendly shopping centre security team has a full-time vacancy. You will be required to patrol the shopping centre and interact with members of the public, businesses within the centre and all contractors and visitors to the site. You will be responsible for the health and safety for all at the site and will be trained in emergency preparedness. You should have a positive attitude and be able to remain calm and diligent during any incidents that may occur on site. To apply for this role, you must have an in-date SIA and CCTV licences. You will also need to have experience of using Microsoft packages to complete necessary daily documentation and reporting as part of your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Duties
    • Patrol the shopping centre regularly to ensure the safety and security of the premises
    • Monitor CCTV systems and respond to incidents in a timely and professional manner
    • Act as a visible deterrent to theft, anti-social behaviour, and other security risks
    • Handle emergency situations, including evacuations, alarms, and first aid incidents
    • Liaise with local authorities and emergency services when required
    • Provide assistance and information to customers, tenants, and visitors
  • Cleaning Duties
    • Carry out routine cleaning of public areas, including floors, restrooms, and communal spaces
    • Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene
    • Respond promptly to spillages and cleaning emergencies
    • Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals in line with health and safety procedures
    • Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain waste collection areas
  • General Duties
    • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
    • Follow all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations
    • Work flexibly across both security and cleaning functions as required
    • Complete all necessary reports and documentation accurately

Person Specification

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to shift work

  • Valid SIA Licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous experience in security and/or cleaning roles
