- SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with a school in
Middlesbrough . This is an opportunity to provide targeted support to students who may require additional help with their learning, communication, behaviour or emotional wellbeing.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN.
- Assist Special needs children with classroom tasks and learning activities.
- Help students understand instructions and remain engaged with their learning.
- Support the development of communication, social and independent learning skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and build students' confidence.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role
- Previous experience supporting children or young people is as an
SEN TA desirable .
- Experience working with SEN students, education, childcare or a similar setting would be beneficial.
- A patient, calm and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting student wellbeing and development.
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
