GSL Education London Branch are currently looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a supportive school in Lewisham on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about science and enjoys helping students develop their knowledge, confidence and interest in the subject.
The Role:
As a Science Teacher , you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the relevant key stages. You will create a positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate, ask questions and develop their scientific understanding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering effective Science lessons.
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet different learning needs.
- Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Managing classroom behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
- Encouraging students to take an active interest in Science.
- Working closely with colleagues to support student development.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
The successful Science Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum.
- Recent experience teaching Science in a UK school setting.
- Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to engage students with different abilities and learning needs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, patient and professional approach.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
- A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
