About the Role:

  • As a Health & Social Care and Childhood Development Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons that help students develop their understanding of health, wellbeing, care and child development.
  • You will support students in applying their knowledge to real-world contexts while creating a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, discussion and progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Health & Social Care and Childhood Development lessons.
  • Teach subject content clearly and relate learning to real-world situations.
  • Assess, monitor and record student progress.
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care, Childhood Development or a closely related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
