EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant β Tameside & Manchester
We are recruiting an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant for primary schools across Tameside and Manchester, with an immediate start. This role suits a patient, nurturing practitioner confident supporting young children with additional needs within Reception, under the direction of the class teacher and EYFS Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Support individuals and small groups of children, including those on the SEN register, within continuous provision, indoors and outdoors
- Support communication and language, and personal, social and emotional development (PSED)
- Deliver phonics and early intervention support as directed by the class teacher
- Provide high-quality interactions during continuous provision that extend children's vocabulary and confidence
- Support pupils towards individual EHCP or SEND support plan targets, feeding back progress to the class teacher and SENCO
- Support personal/intimate care where required, in line with school policy
- Build positive, trusted relationships with pupils who need reassurance and consistency
- Undertake all safeguarding training and follow procedures to keep the school community safe
Requirements:
- Experience working with EYFS/Reception-aged children with additional needs
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or working towards) for Teaching Assistants, or equivalent qualification/experience
- Sound understanding of EYFS routines, continuous provision and child development
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach
- Willingness to undertake relevant SEND training where required
A fully enhanced DBS and two professional references covering the last two years are required.
