About the Role
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills and practical understanding. You will create purposeful lessons that combine design theory with hands-on learning, while monitoring progress and maintaining high standards of classroom practice.

Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Teach practical and theoretical aspects of Design and Technology effectively.
Assess, monitor and record student progress.
Differentiate lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
Maintain a safe and well-organised practical learning environment.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and pupil progress.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge and practical skills.
Confident classroom and behaviour management abilities.
Good communication and organisational skills.
A commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
