GSL Education are recruiting for a school in Southampton who is looking for individuals to take on a Behaviour Mentoring role. The school is seeking someone confident in communicating and interacting with young people and supporting them with their social, emotional and mental health needs.

Behaviour Support Assistant – Southampton – Term time only – ASAP Start

Responsibilities

  • Working with children in the classroom setting
  • Working with students one-to-one
  • Acting as a positive role model to students
  • Taking an interest in and supporting the well-being of students

Requirements

  • Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar
  • Has a positive attitude
  • Can engage children in and out of the classroom
  • Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
