Salary: £185 – £265 per day

GSL Education London Branch are delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Head Teacher to join a thriving coeducational comprehensive secondary school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school leader who is passionate about driving standards, supporting staff, and ensuring students reach their full potential.
The successful Assistant Head Teacher will play a key role in shaping the school’s vision, providing strategic leadership, and supporting teaching and learning across all year groups. This is a chance to make a lasting impact within a vibrant and inclusive school community.
Responsibilities:
Support the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team in the overall management of the school.
Lead and oversee specific areas of school improvement, curriculum, or pastoral care.
Monitor teaching and learning to ensure high standards of achievement.
Manage and support staff development, performance, and wellbeing.
Ensure high standards of behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding across the school.
Build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
Drive forward initiatives to improve outcomes for all learners.
Requirements:
Previous experience as an Assistant Head Teacher or within a senior leadership role.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong teaching background.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
A proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
The ideal Assistant Head Teacher will be someone who leads by example, is solution-focused, and is committed to supporting every child to achieve their best.
