We are now looking for an AWS Solution Architect to join us in the next phase of ourmulti-year, architecture-led transformation. As part of a newly created Enterprise Architecture function, the AWS Solution Architect will own the target and transition architectures for our cloud estate, ensuring that platforms are secure, scalable, cost-optimised and aligned to AWS best practice.

You will work closely with product, engineering and infrastructure teams to identify current-state risks, shape future-state patterns and steer delivery teams toward well-architected solutions. You’ll shape strategy by defining roadmaps, standards and reference architectures that future-proof GNM’s cloud landscape, acting as subject matter expert and mentor in the Enterprise Technology community.

About the Role:

  • Deliver the cloud pillar of the Technology Strategy by developing and governing GNM’s AWS environments.
  • Drive the adoption of modern, automated, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches and embed the AWS Well-Architected Framework across the portfolio.
  • Assess and model the estate, documenting the current AWS footprint, dependencies and technical debt.
  • Lead design forums, proceeding options and making architecture decisions and balance risk, cost and delivery velocity
  • Automate everything by championing IaC and GitOps pipelines to ensure repeatable, auditable deployments
  • Embed security and resilience throughout the AWS environments, evangelise best practice and evaluate opportunities for innovation
  • Lead cost optimisation, driving architecture decisions to meet performance objectives.

About You:

  • Extensive experience in infrastructure and cloud architecture and demonstrated, hands on experience of AWS
  • AWS certified, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and AWS Certified Security
  • Strong grasp of hybrid network & security design (e.g. Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, WAF, Zero-Trust, NIST
  • Hands-on IaC experience, ideally with Terraform and/or CloudFormation; CI/CD & GitOps patterns
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to simplify complex ideas for non-technical audiences.

We operate in a hybrid environment working 3 days a week from our offices in Kings Cross and 2 days a week remotely.
