About the Role

  • Define the vision and execute the 12‑month roadmap for The Filter, balancing longer‑term infrastructure improvements with revenue optimisation.
  • Support and optimise the global expansion of The Filter, driving localised features, geo‑specific routing and scalable tools for journalists and commercial teams.
  • Act as the primary bridge between Engineering, Design, Commercial and Editorial teams, ensuring affiliate self‑service tools enhance editorial workflows while optimising user experience.
  • Run rigorous experiments on end‑to‑end user experience to optimise editorial and commercial metrics.
  • Manage technical relationships with affiliate networks (e.g., Amazon, Skimlinks) and evaluate build‑or‑buy decisions to aid executive decision making.
  • Work closely with commercial analysts and data engineering to track revenue performance, turning complex data sets into actionable product insights.
  • Ensure our affiliate integrations are performant, privacy‑compliant and support the Guardian’s Core Web Vitals, page load speeds and SEO performance.

About You

  • Solid understanding of the affiliate marketing world, including tracking, tagging and affiliate networks.
  • Proven experience managing a digital product in an agile environment, ideally within media, e‑commerce or marketplace settings.
  • Track record of driving revenue growth through understanding levers such as AOV, CTR and EPC.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering and design to deliver high‑quality user experiences.
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset, able to bring clarity to complex or ambiguous problem spaces, especially when balancing commercial goals with editorial integrity.
