The Crowd is proud to exclusively partner with a progressive, multidisciplinary international architecture and design studio that is entering an exciting phase of expansion. They are seeking a commercially and strategically minded Director of Business Development to work alongside the senior management to spearhead their international growth and expansion efforts. Please note, our client is open to candidates who are based in London, Europe, Middle East or Asia.

This is a high-level and instrumental role within the business where you will focus on identifying and winning new business opportunities across key markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. You will represent the company at industry events, build relationships with key decision-makers, and position them as a leading architectural practice for innovative and noteworthy projects. The ideal person will have solid, demonstrable experience in the architecture and design sector as a work winner and will have a strong network both in the UK and internationally. Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the senior management team to drive new business efforts across multiple sectors on an international level.
  • Identify and pursue project leads in key markets (Europe, Middle East, Asia and beyond) with a focus on multi-disciplinary sectors.
  • Cultivate relationships with developers, investors, and other key stakeholders, establishing our client’s reputation as a trusted architectural partner.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings to actively expand our client’s network and brand visibility.
  • Work closely with the board of directors and global teams to develop a solid business development strategy.
  • Maintain involvement with clients on a strategic level through project stages and uphold a high standard of relationship management.
  • Proposal and negotiation management.
  • Monitor market trends and industry activity.
  • Act as a company ambassador.
Key Skills/Requirements:
  • Commercially aware with the ability to develop strategic growth plans and execute them effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of investment, development, and corporate knowhow.
  • A background in architecture is ideal; however, our client is open to candidates from related fields e.g. property development or built environment investment.
  • A proven track record of work winning and negotiation.
  • Confident in networking with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Experience or networks in Europe, Middle East and/or Asia is a significant advantage.
  • A consultative approach and an articulate communicator.
  • ARB/AIA or equivalent qualifications highly advantageous but not essential.
