The Role

As an Electrical Equipment Tester (PAT Tester) at Guardian Electrical Compliance, you will carry out inspections and tests on electrical equipment in commercial and industrial environments. You will make sure everything meets the standards set out in the latest IET Code of Practice and keep clear, accurate records of your work for our clients and auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing and inspecting electrical appliances in line with the current IET Code of Practice
  • Recording and submitting results that meet both our standards and those of our clients
  • Following our Health & Safety policies on every job
  • Keeping up to date with changes in regulations and industry best practices

Essential Skills Required:

  • Comfortable using Seaward Apollo 500, mobile phone and Customer Relationship Management software to log and submit test results
  • Clear verbal communication
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good time management and organisation
  • A flexible and reliable approach

Qualifications Required:

  • City & Guilds 2377 Certification
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)

Additional Job Details:

  • Full-Time Position: Available immediately.
  • Hours: Contracted 45 hours per week (Overtime available and paid travel time).
  • Salary Bracket: £29,835 (£35k to £40k OTE)
  • Location: Galashiels

Extra Information:

  • We provide your work van and testing equipment (you just need your own hand tools)
  • Paid travel time 1 hour each way is included in your working day
