With over 3,000 employees, 170+ services and 90,000+ customers nationwide, we’re a business that continues to grow year on year, with ambitious plans for the future and genuine opportunities across the wider group.
We’re now looking for an experienced Electrician / Tester to join our team, carrying out emergency lighting inspections across three large manufacturing sites in the Birmingham area. This role is ideal for someone who’s spent time in fast‑paced contract environments or shift‑based roles and is now looking for stability, routine and a better work/life balance — without compromising on earnings.
The role
You’ll travel between three local manufacturing facilities (company vehicle provided), working closely with site facilities and maintenance teams to inspect emergency lighting systems, record findings and recommend remedial works. Occasionally, you’ll carry out small repair projects yourself, but the core focus is inspection, compliance and customer service. You’ll be a trusted, regular presence on site — so a professional, friendly and personable approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out emergency lighting inspections across multiple sites
- Accurately record findings and produce clear reports
- Identify and recommend remedial works or system upgrades
- Complete minor repairs where required
- Build strong working relationships with site teams
- Ensure compliance with current electrical and safety regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Completed Electrical Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience in maintenance, compliance or inspection-based electrical work
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
- Professional and approachable communication style
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to pass a DBS check
What You’ll Get
- £41,600 basic salary
- Company vehicle for site travel
- Monday to Friday working – no shifts, evenings or weekends
- 23 days holiday
- Life assurance (3x salary)
- Access to online GP appointments
- Vivup discount centre
- Scope for professional development and progression across the wider PTSG group
- A stable, routine role with long-term security
If you’re a qualified Electrician looking to step away from shift work or high‑pressure contracts and into a steady, well‑structured role with genuine balance, this is a great opportunity to do just that.
