Come for the food, stay for the smiles! Working as a Chef at Guardian Torquay puts you at the centre of supporting the care and education of young children. You will be creating menus full of delicious and nutritious snacks and meals for children and their Educators, as well as being part of the learning experience when they help you prepare food, forage from the garden and learn about what they are eating.

The Opportunity

  • 25 hrs a week role – would like a chef that can work 5 hours over 5 days
  • Develop a seasonal, nutritious menu that respects individual requirements regarding medical conditions, food preferences, and cultural considerations and ensures children's health and wellbeing.
  • Building strong relationships with the children, Educators, families and the Centre community.
  • Ensure best practice food safety and hygienic standards are always upheld.

To be considered, you will have:

  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate or Food Handling
  • An awareness of your personal responsibilities under the current Child Protection Laws.
  • Current Working with Children's Check (for VIC)
  • Must be Australian Citizen, PR or Partner Visa (some visa types can be considered especially with an expiry for 2+ years – we do not provide sponsorships)
