Guardian Building Products, founded in 2012, supplies and distributes a comprehensive range of high-quality PVC and composite home improvement solutions to trade partners across the UK. Our team provides exceptional customer service and an extensive product range. Initially recognized for offering a wide selection of PVC bathroom panels, we have since expanded to include various innovative products across multiple categories. Guided by our customer-first approach, we pride ourselves on providing quality solutions, tailored to meet the needs of our clients. We are part of the Guardian Building Systems group, serving customers across the UK and Ireland.
The prime responsibility will be to account develop an assigned set of customers & generate new business by opening new accounts for Guardian Building Products Ltd. Strategic account growth, introduction of new products and developing joint business plans with online customers. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Account Manager is expected to play a key role in the sales growth across the online customer segment. In addition to this, they will become a master user of the Product Information Management tool (PIM) and proactively plan a calendar of promotions in line with marketing, seasonal trends & customer demand.
Key Areas of Responsibility- To deliver the agreed sales revenue targets as set out in the overall corporate and financial objectives of the business.
- To effectively manage the customer base ensuring that all opportunities are both identified and developed.
- To effectively manage time to ensure the optimum amount of time is dedicated to the specific facets of the role (customer communications/meetings, PIM Management, etc).
- To build a viable, on-going “sales funnel” of suspects, prospects & new customers.
- To provide reports, as requested, providing analysis of results and providing future development plans.
- To ensure that agreed KPI’s in respect of the Sales Team are achieved.
- To efficiently respond to any customer enquiries, in a timely and professional manner.
- To take an active role in the new product process from suggestion through to launch.
- To undertake additional tasks as may be required by the National Sales Manager.
- To pass on any market or customer specific information/intelligence to the relevant person.
- Experience of selling any product within the Builders, Roofing or Plumbers Merchant sectors, or relevant transferable skills.
- Ideally an understanding of the e-Commerce market and its dynamics as it relates to the industry.
- To always act in a professional manner.
- A proven effective team player with the ability to be flexible to deal with day to day challenges.
- The ambition and ability to develop within the company, to take on future more senior roles.
- Excellent IT skills, especially relating to Microsoft Office & social media.
- The job holder will have access to some sensitive information; therefore integrity and an ability to maintain confidentiality are key attributes.
